REFLECTIONS
Experiences:
I found Typography to be one of the most challenging modules this Semester. Even though we see and use Type everyday I new really paid much close attention to it until this Module. Even though I used Typography in design works Before I did not understand the principles to use it properly. Being new to the course, when I started I did find myself struggling to fully grasp the concepts and principles of using Type. But as we Moved along I started understand the importance of using these principles.
Observation:
keeping the blog regularly updated was a task that I found very tedious at the start of the semester. However I later understood the benefits of doing this. Keeping a record of the my works helps me to identify weaknesses in them and see how far along I have come throughout the semester. It also helped me to get into the good habit keeping track of my process. On referring back I can see a clear direction in which my work is Headed and also helps others ( In the future,Clients) see my thought process before coming to the Final Drafts.
Findings:
Even though we do not think/realize it typography is a very intricate form of Design. I learned about the tremendous effort and attention to detail that goes into the creation of single font. I also learnt Keeping a record of your process is a key aspect of being of a good designer. At the start I found it quite difficult to stop work midway to take pictures of the process. But as we moved through the module I realized that taking that time to record the process actually gives us an opportunity to analyze our work more thoroughly as we go.
