INSTRUCTIONS



Exercise 1

(Week 1)

We were taught the basics of Illustrator in today's class. we were taught how to trace objects using the pen tool and told about the vormator shapes. We were given 8 shapes to trace and recreate.

Above you can see the 8 shapes that we were to trace. We were then told that we are have to create a character using the shapes above, keeping in mind we that we cannot distort the shapes in any way.

We were told to create a Silhouette of the shape first and strokes of the character alongside it. Mr hafiz checked our work to see whether any shapes were distorted. We were then instructed to work on coloring the character and giving it shape and shadow.

Exercise 2
(Week 2)

In today's Class we were taught about basic 3d shapes and perspective drawing.

We were then taught how to use 3 different shades of markers to create the shadows onto 3D objects.

For out assignment we were given 2 robots to shade with showing how there shadows would form under two different angles of light.

Exercise 3
(Week 3)

This week was a continuation of the what we learned last week.We were taught to apply the shadows digitally. We were given a pear that we were supposed to trace and create a shadow.

We traced the above pear and created a shadow. After which were were asked to cut the pear and draw the insides if the pear.

 We were then given a picture of a skull and asked to merge the two together to create a design

Exercise 4
(Week 4)

Today class was about drawing with markers. We were supposed to capture various emotions through quick sketches. We were t first given a simple emoji face with different expressions to sketch.

We then moved on to sketching human faces. First we sketched out baby faces and tried different expressions. Followed by the expressions of a girl.

We were given the assignment to come up wit 2 different charcters. One that is animal/human and the other an inanimate showing a character or emotion.

FabSpace Visit

(Week 5)

This week our class went to fabspace where we learned the process of laser cutting, engraving and UV printing.

It was interesting to see the whole process of Laser cutting an engraving in real time. We were told that the UV printer uses CMYK format for printing whereas the Laser cutter uses RGB. We were told pay attention to these setting when exporting the files for Printing.

Lines - Manual
(Week 7)

Today we were started of with a line drawing exercise. Mr Redzwan taught us to create shadings using lines through this exercise.

Using Hatching to create Light an shadows
With this exercise we learned many different Hatching techniques and how to use them to create the effect of light and shadow. Using hatching helps us to create depth and add texture to images.

(Week 7)

After we were done with the manual digital exercise. We were taught to use the shading technique digitally. We were later assigned to create the 6 different digital versions of a pear using hatching technique we learned earlier.
